Process of Making
Raw earthen kneaded clay is Wheel Thrown to create desired moulds which is then Bisque Fired & glazed. The pot is then heated in a kiln at 982o C. This tremendous heat shock causes the pot to explode, initiating immediate metamorphosis. At this point, the pot is red hot & the melting glaze coats it. The glowing mass is then removed from the kiln using tongs. The change in temperature for the pot, results in highly prized cracks of traditional Raku pottery....
